ENSCO provides technical subject matter experts to support the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA).

Requirements

  • Experience supporting occupational safety and health managers with health and safety plans, safety programs, construction/test planning, periodic safety inspections, and test team safety coordination.
  • Experience managing or supporting underground safety programs, permit-required confined-space operations, and confined-space roles as supervisor, entrant, and/or rescue.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulatory requirements and experience with risk assessments, hazard analysis, hazard mitigation, hazardous materials awareness/management, and safety communication.
  • Experience with respiratory protection program support, quantitative fit testing using a Port-a-Count, PPE management, SCBA, and portable air monitoring equipment such as four-gas meters.
  • Ability to enter permit-required confined spaces, wear up to Level A PPE, serve as a test team Safety Officer, and coordinate with other test team members.
  • Required before starting: OSHA Permit-Required Confined Space Training; OSHA 510, 511, and 7405 training or Occupational Safety degree or Associate/higher Safety Professional credential; HAZWOPER 40-hour Training; First Aid, CPR, and AED training.
  • Work location: On-site at RD-TS facilities on Kirtland AFB, Albuquerque, NM, with local/CONUS travel as required to support DTRA testing.
  • AN ACTIVE DOD SECRET CLEARANCE AND THE ABILITY TO OBTAIN A TS/SCI IS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION FOR WHICH YOU MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN.
  • Bachelor's or equivalent with 7+ years related experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience supporting DTRA RD-TS, DoD test operations, construction safety, underground operations, or hazardous field-test activities.
  • Experience supporting safety programs for RD-TS construction and testing activities involving underground tunnels, target structures, confined spaces, hazardous terrain, or heavy construction areas.
  • Experience serving as a Safety Officer for test events or coordinating safety requirements across government, contractor, and test-team personnel.
  • Experience with Level A PPE, SCBA, respiratory protection, fit testing, PPE program support, air monitoring equipment, and hazardous atmosphere controls.
  • Experience performing safety inspections, construction/test planning reviews, hazard mitigation, and hazardous materials program management.
  • Certification: HAZWOPER 8-hour Refresher Training; OSHA Underground/Tunneling Training; DTRA Site-Specific Underground Training; host installation-specific hazardous material and/or hazardous waste management training.
  • Maintain First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications as applicable.
  • CURRENT TOP SECRET AND SCI ELIGIBILITY IS DESIRED FOR THIS POSITION FOR WHICH YOU MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the DTRA Occupational Safety and Health Managers in developing health and safety plans and programs affecting all RD-TS construction and testing activities.
  • Participate in test and construction planning meetings, annual and periodic safety inspections.
  • Manage an underground safety program, perform underground safety training, work in and manage permit required confined spaces as a supervisor, entrant, and or rescue.
