Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal skills, self-starter and inquisitive by nature
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially Word and Excel
  • Solid reasoning, analytical, and communication skills
  • Must possess excellent work ethic
  • Must be able to multi-task
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Learn the process flow of cement manufacturing and applicable MSHA safety regulations and standards (MSHA General Industry, Lockout/Tagout, Machine Guarding, Confined Space, Hazard Communication, PPE)
  • Conduct safety inspections and observations, generate reports, and assist with initiating corrective actions
  • Support incident, near-miss, and hazard reporting, including basic root-cause analysis and documentation
  • Assist with job hazard analyses (JHAs), risk assessments, and safe work procedure reviews
  • Perform a safety-related research or improvement project, gathering data and presenting findings to the safety and plant leadership teams
  • Track and analyze safety performance metrics (injury rates, near-miss trends, corrective action status, training completion)
  • Manage organization, archives, and recordkeeping for safety and training compliance (MSHA logs, permits, inspections, training records)
