Safety and Compliance Specialist
About The Position
Conduct employee safety-related training. Coordinate data for DOT audits and investigations. General administrative tasks Support with incident/accident reporting and investigation, including but not limited to accidents, near misses, property damage, and DOT reportable events. Assist and support the company's drug and alcohol testing program. Assist with compliance with the driver’s hours of service regulations. Includes reviewing logs and log corrections, coaching drivers on corrective actions for properly using hours of service, and informing drivers of disciplinary actions because of violations
Requirements
- Ability to deliver training to individuals as well as small and large employee groups
- Exceptional interpersonal, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a team.
- Ability to multitask and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with employees and the public.
- Ability to maintain composure and patience in high-stress situations.
- Ability to effectively coach/counsel drivers on safety-sensitive functions.
- Must maintain confidentiality in daily operations.
- Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability in a changing environment and maintains strong self-motivation
