About The Position

This position supports regulatory compliance and environmental safety initiatives across the organization, with a focus on Joint Commission standards and Environment of Care requirements. Assists in the development, review, and implementation of safety policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure ongoing survey readiness. Participates in routine safety rounding, documentation compliance reviews, and identification of environmental risks. This position will be primarily based in the Kenner, Laplace, St. Bernard, and St. Charles Parish sub-region with the daily office at Kenner. Moderate travel will be expected within the sub-region and minor travel for the larger south shore region to assist Baptist, West Bank, and Jeff Hwy. Manages life safety and environment of care standards with matters pertaining to fire and life safety. Submits required reports for Senior Staff Meeting, EOC Safety Committee as directed by emergency preparedness leadership. Assists Facility Director and/or Safety Manager with the coordination of safety matters. Manages hazardous materials/ chemical waste management program. Other related duties as required. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years’ experience in a safety related field OR 1 year experience in a safety related field with a 2 year degree
  • Valid Louisiana driver’s license
  • Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information.
  • Proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Exhibits effective public speaking skills.
  • Skills to establish and maintain good rapport with government authorities.
  • Familiar with MS Office and internet.
  • Self-motivated with skills to work independently without close supervision or specific instruction.
