About The Position

SMG is a nationally recognized professional service organization that provides workplace safety consulting, training, staffing, program planning, and implementation. SMG seeks a Safety Advisor - Owner's Rep in Indianapolis, Indiana. The HSE Advisor will coordinate contractor work, conduct additional field audits, and support the HSE team’s efforts. This person will oversee safety on a demolition project.

Requirements

• Five plus years of construction safety experience.
• Five plus years of demolition experience.
• Experience with de-energizing equipment.
• Degree in safety or related fields.
• Previous experience in safety leadership.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Course.
• Ability to work weekends if needed.

Nice To Haves

• BCSP certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Complete contractor onboarding training.
• Oversee contractor work on demolition projects
• Collaborate with contractors to refine the scope of work, assist them in completing risk assessments, and issue work permits for specialized contractors.
• Conduct field audits on work permit compliance.
• Review equipment-specific instructions for lockout.
• Administer annual employee knowledge checks on lockout/tagout.
• Evaluate ongoing lockout/tagouts in the field.
• Support emergency response coordination.
• Coordinate signage needs across the site.
• Aid in supply and PPE management.
• Assist with confined space entries.
• Provide help with other HSE tasks as requested.
