About The Position

The Safety Administrator is responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations and standards, while minimizing environmental impact. This role aims to promote a culture of safety and a healthy work environment by implementing, managing, and continually improving HSE programs and procedures. The position oversees local and national facility safety operations without direct reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of General Industry OSHA regulations.
  • In-depth understanding of environmental regulations.
  • Familiarity with environmental management systems.
  • Proficiency in hazard identification, risk assessment methodologies, and incident investigation.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in an HSE role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with HSE software.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to act as a teacher and influence others.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to all applicable safety and environmental regulations (OSHA, EPA, and local).
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a robust safety management system.
  • Maintain and update all required safety documentation, permits, and records.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, risk assessments and job hazard analyses.
  • Investigate and analyze incidents and near misses, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Complete incident reports and maintain accurate records.
  • Utilize safety data to identify trends, prioritize interventions, and measure the effectiveness of safety programs.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA recordkeeping requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and deliver comprehensive safety training programs for all employees.
  • Promote a strong safety culture through employee engagement and leadership.
  • Lead safety meetings, committees, and training initiatives.
  • Foster positive safety interactions with staff.
  • Provide customer visit interaction safety orientation.
  • Maintain inventory for safety and first aid supplies.
  • Assist with worker’s compensation program.
  • Be available to address safety-related emergencies and issues outside of regular working hours.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
