About The Position

This position will provide support to the Corporate Safety Manager at the Irving, TX. offices in the coordination and execution of daily requirements to provide a safe workplace for our team members. The position pays $24.00 per hour and is located at the Corporate Office in Irving, TX, working 1st shift from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM.

Requirements

  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and, a minimum of 2 years of experience in Safety Clerical, preferably in a food manufacturing setting. Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered for the above.
  • Knowledge of industrial safety regulations
  • Ability to create documentation and logs.
  • Ability to communicate in a professional, clear manner.
  • Ability to be multi-task oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to always present oneself professionally.
  • Proficient in computer skills.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Safety Manager to implement and maintain a continuing educational and safety promotional program for locations at GRUMA Locations.
  • Post and communicate scheduled training sessions for GRUMA locations.
  • Prepare and maintain statistical reports on safety performance and activities for distribution to management.
  • File training material and update training compliance per GRUMA Locations.
  • Assist in providing safety orientation to new hire employees.
  • Prepare Monthly and weekly reports for corporate metrics and each location.
  • Maintain communication presentations with updated information.
  • Prepare monthly Safety Newsletter.
  • Prepare bi-weekly presentations for Safety Meetings.
  • Translate communications Safety banners.
  • Coordinate meetings with all plants for several topics.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Understand the role in the Food Safety Management System by being aware of the importance and relevancy of his/her activities, and to report food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
