SAFE Program Manager
About The Position
Crisis Services is seeking a SAFE Program Manager to lead our Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner (SAFE) Program. We are seeking an experienced RN/NP/PA who is already certified as a SANE or willing to become certified, and who is interested in leading our commitment to provide a coordinated, respectful response to sexual assault victims across Western New York. If not already certified, Crisis Services will support the necessary steps to gain certification. Assistance with relocation to the Buffalo, NY area may be available. The Crisis Services’ Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner (SAFE) Program provides on-site forensic services at hospitals to individuals who have been sexually assaulted within a 120-hour period and are seeking help. The SAFE Program Manager oversees the overall operation of the SAFE Program, ensuring forensic services for hospitals contracted with Crisis Services. Internally, the Program Manager manages the forensic team, including recruitment, coordination of training and continuing education, team development, procedural guidance, case review, program analysis and evaluation. Externally, the Program Manager works closely with hospital leadership to ensure optimal health and forensic services are offered to patients seeking their assistance after sexual assault. Work focuses on building and maintaining support, establishing and updating policies and procedures, implementing and reinforcing the process, measuring and monitoring results. As a member of the Sexual Assault Response Teams in both Erie and Niagara counties, the Program Manager interacts with agencies such as law enforcement, DA’s office, forensic labs, and advocate programs. Additionally, the Program Manager connects with all local SANE programs to offer ongoing training.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in nursing from an accredited college and/or university
- Current licensure in NYS as an RN, NP, or PA
- Five (5) years of experience in clinical setting, preferably in a hospital environment
- A valid NYS driver’s license with a clean driving record and access to a usable vehicle
Nice To Haves
- SAFE certification by NYS Department of Health strongly preferred
- SANE certification (Adolescent/Adult and/or Adolescent/Pediatric) by International Association of Forensic Nurses with at least three (3) years of experience as a SANE strongly preferred
- Previous experience in supervisory, leadership or teaching role strongly preferred
- Experience with crisis situations and quickly establishing rapport with clients
- Demonstrated ability and experience working with diverse populations
Responsibilities

- Rotating administrative on-call responsibilities outside of regular work hours to ensure 24-hour response to hospitals
