About The Position

The Safe at Home Coordinator plays a key role in the administration, promotion, and expansion of the Ohio Secretary of State's Safe at Home Address Confidentiality Program. Under the direction of the Safe at Home and Ohio Election Integrity Commission Administrator, the Coordinator develops and implements statewide outreach initiatives, builds collaborative partnerships with government agencies, victim service organizations, and community stakeholders, and increases awareness of the program among eligible participants and application assistants. The position serves as a primary program representative, delivers training and educational presentations, assists with participant services, and supports continuous program improvement while ensuring the highest standards of confidentiality, customer service, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and conduct statewide outreach initiatives to increase awareness and participation in the Safe at Home Address Confidentiality Program.
• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with victim advocacy organizations, nonprofit agencies, healthcare providers, legal service organizations, law enforcement agencies, and other community partners serving eligible populations.
• Promote the program through presentations, educational materials, conferences, community events, and public awareness campaigns.
• Represent the Ohio Secretary of State and the Safe at Home program before community organizations, professional associations, and governmental entities.
• Identify opportunities to expand program awareness among underserved and eligible populations.
• Establish and maintain productive working relationships with local, state, and federal agencies, including courts, prosecutors, law enforcement, Boards of Elections, Boards of Developmental Disabilities, county Job and Family Services offices, libraries, and Bureau of Motor Vehicles locations.
• Collaborate with internal agency divisions and external partners to improve program accessibility and service delivery.
• Support and strengthen partnerships with Ohio Businesses Against Trafficking and other organizations committed to victim protection and public safety.
• Recruit, support, and provide ongoing assistance to Safe at Home Application Assistants throughout Ohio.
• Develop, coordinate, and deliver training programs for application assistants, partner agencies, and other stakeholders regarding program eligibility, application procedures, confidentiality requirements, and best practices.
• Serve as an Application Assistant when necessary by assisting eligible participants through the enrollment process with professionalism, compassion, and confidentiality.
• Respond promptly and accurately to inquiries from participants, application assistants, government agencies, and the public regarding program requirements and services.
• Assist with the daily administration of the Safe at Home program, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, agency policies, and established procedures.
• Process participant correspondence and program mail while maintaining strict confidentiality of participant information.
• Prepare reports, presentations, outreach materials, training resources, and statistical data to evaluate program performance and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate program records and assist with data collection, tracking, and reporting activities.
• Monitor developments in laws, regulations, and best practices affecting victim protection, address confidentiality, domestic violence, stalking, sexual assault, and human trafficking.
• Provide recommendations regarding program policies, procedures, legislative initiatives, and operational improvements.
• Conduct NVRA outreach and compliance visits, including distribution of voter registration and Safe at Home educational materials at designated partner locations.
• Ensure all program activities are conducted in accordance with applicable federal and state laws, agency policies, and confidentiality requirements.
• Travel throughout Ohio to conduct outreach, training, conferences, and stakeholder meetings, including occasional overnight travel.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
