About The Position

Primary Children's Center for Safe and Healthy Families is an integrated medical and behavioral health clinic dedicated to serving children and adolescents who have experienced child maltreatment, trauma, and/or grief. Safe and Healthy Families provides specialized, evidence-based outpatient mental health treatment within a multidisciplinary pediatric healthcare setting. The Mental Health Therapist will provide assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions for children, adolescents, and their caregivers. Therapists work collaboratively with physicians, psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to support healing and resilience following experiences of abuse, neglect, trauma, loss, and other adverse childhood experiences. The ideal candidate is passionate about trauma-informed care, values interdisciplinary collaboration, and is committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based mental health services to vulnerable youth and their families.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work or related field.
  • Current state licensure (as required by state) as LCSW, CMHC or LMFT .
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer Skills, i.e., email, word processing.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with patients, families, and treatment teams.
  • Dual licensure with current state licensure as LAC
  • Montana Only: Current state licensure as a MHPP.

Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence-based outpatient mental health therapy to children and adolescents with histories of child maltreatment, trauma, and/or grief.
  • Complete comprehensive behavioral health assessments, treatment planning, and ongoing clinical documentation.
  • Deliver trauma-informed individual, family, and caregiver-focused interventions as clinically indicated.
  • Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and other multidisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.
  • Utilize evidence-based treatment approaches to address trauma-related symptoms, behavioral concerns, emotional regulation, grief, and family functioning.
  • Engage caregivers as active participants in treatment and support implementation of therapeutic recommendations.
  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as clinically appropriate.
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation in accordance with organizational, regulatory, and payer requirements.
  • Participate in clinical consultation, team meetings, and ongoing professional development activities.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive therapeutic environment for patients and families.
