About The Position

Eurofins Scientific is an international life sciences company providing a unique range of analytical testing services. The SAF Sr. Engineer will serve as a customer technical contact, interpret standards, and apply requirements to products under investigation. This role involves creating and implementing test procedures, conducting tests, recording results, and ensuring test equipment is calibrated and functioning properly. The engineer will interface with and update lab management, team leaders, and project coordinators, and assist with training junior technicians and engineers. Responsibilities also include reviewing files and reports, monitoring multiple projects, preparing certification reports, assisting with quoting, staying current with industry technical developments, and supporting sales and marketing activities.

Requirements

• Four-year college Engineering degree, or other technical degree with relevant work experience
• Minimum of 10 years of direct work experience in product safety engineering and hazardous location equipment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a customer technical contact.
• Interpret standards and apply the requirements to products under investigation.
• Create and implement test procedures.
• Conduct tests in accordance with standards and procedures, record results.
• Ensure that test equipment is calibrated or tested and operates properly.
• Interface with and update the Lab Manager(s), Team Leader(s) and Project Coordinator(s).
• Assist as necessary with training of junior technicians and engineers.
• Review files and reports prepared by project engineers.
• Monitors multiple projects underway.
• Prepare certification reports and related documents.
• Assists department management with quoting.
• Keeps current with industry technical developments and disseminates to the team, as necessary.
• Assist with conducting and monitoring training of testing personnel as necessary particularly in relevant field of expertise.
• Perform technical review of relevant reports and project files prepared by other engineers.
• Support management with Sales and Marketing activities.
