About The Position

Lone Star Materials, a subsidiary of Lone Star Paving, is seeking a CDL Truck Driver to join their team in Central Texas. This role involves transporting equipment and materials to various job locations, primarily in heavy highway and civil projects. A valid Class A or B CDL is required.

Requirements

CDL (Texas Class A or Class B CDL Driver's License) with clean record required.
Must meet DOT employment requirements.
All potential candidates must submit to and have a clear record through the FMCSA Clearinghouse.
Minimum of 2 years experience.
Must be organized with a detail-oriented mindset.
Must be positive, friendly, and professional.
Ability to work well with others in a group or one-on-one setting.
Promote, execute and adhere to the company's safety policy, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.
Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself, or endanger the wellbeing of others.
Promote a team approach and maintain dialogue with all employees to exchange information and gather ideas.
Collaborate with any project teams on other special initiatives, as required.

Nice To Haves

High School Diploma or GED but not required.
Working knowledge of asphalt production and associated equipment, and an understanding of operations and safety requirements is preferred.
Familiarity with OSHA regulations, a plus.

Responsibilities

Transport equipment and/or materials to various job locations.
Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
Performs daily preventative maintenance, record and inspection on vehicles to include fueling, cleaning, tire/light inspection, checking and adding fluids as needed.
Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
Familiarity with Texas area and roadways.
Understands the complexities of the trucking and asphalt industries.
Complete trip tickets and paperwork.
Utilize phone and apps to track start and end time and travel.
Keeping the vehicle clean and fitting company standards.
Carries out daily preventative maintenance, records, and inspection on vehicles to include fueling, cleaning, tire/light inspection, checking and adding fluids as needed.
Performs and logs pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
