About The Position
Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, the SART Registered Nurse uses intellectual, interpersonal, and technical skills through the nursing process to assist patients and victims of sexual assault. The SART RN serves as a health team member in independent, interdependent, and dependent roles within the health care system. As a patient advocate, the nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for nursing care for patients aged 12 and above. The role also supports victims of sexual and physical assault and may require courtroom testimony as needed. The position is with St. Mary Medical Center and is per diem with variable scheduling. Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
- Upon hire, hold a California Registered Nurse License.
- Upon hire, hold National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Have 2 years of acute care or specialty experience in an Emergency Department, Pediatrics, and/or Gynecology.
Nice To Haves
- Upon hire, certification as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner.
- Program management experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to patients and victims of sexual assault using the nursing process.
- Serve as a patient advocate and assume responsibility and accountability for nursing care for patients aged 12 and above.
- Participate as a supportive team member assisting sexual assault and physical assault victims.
- Be available for courtroom testimony as needed.
