About The Position

The Ryan White Program Supervisor is responsible for assisting with the coordination and supervision of CareSouth's Ryan White Program activities and special projects. The position will serve as the direct supervisor of the Patient Support Specialists and occasionally serve as point of contact to RW Program Staff as designated.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in public health, healthcare, social services or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Current CPR certification is required.
  • High level of ethics in managing patient confidentiality and advocacy.
  • Two to five years' experience working with adults in an ambulatory care setting.
  • Understanding of HIV/AIDS and willingness to receive regular training on intersectional topics related to the experiences and treatment needs of people living with HIV (PLWH).
  • Knowledge/experience of budgets and organizational structure as it relates to administrative positions in a healthcare setting/environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Exhibit flexibility to achieve program goals.
  • Effective communication skills: both oral and written.
  • Ability to work with others or within a team and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Proficient in the use of computers and computer systems.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and work independently as well as schedule and produce work in a timely manner.
  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to relate to diverse groups of people and people on all levels.
  • Experience and ability to effectively utilize personal computers, various hardware, and software packages.
  • Must be able to understand and follow the organizational budget.
  • Understanding of the HIV/AIDS continuum of care and the HIV/AIDS social safety net in Louisiana plays a key role in the success of this role.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in social services.
  • Minimum of two years' supervisory experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with managing and monitoring Early Intervention Services (EIS) activities.
  • Ensure efficient workflows and patient access to services
  • Manage eligibility, enrollment and service delivery processes
  • Assists others as required to meet quality service and productivity expectations.
  • Attend required organizational meetings and participation on internal committees.
  • Organize and actively participate in community outreach events such as professional associations, health fairs, client outreach activities, etc. including National HIV Testing Day and World AIDS Day activities.
  • Maintain and update as necessary the list of community resources available to RW patients.
  • Maintain open communication with all team members.
  • Maintain adaptability, supports teamwork, and resolves problems.
  • Oversee and maintain an effective tracking system for referrals, prior authorizations, support services, and other essential information.
  • Maintain confidentiality of workplace information according to the policies and procedures of CSMD.
  • Utilize technology to create a more efficient and effective way of doing business.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of CSMD Policies and Procedures and the Ryan White Program guidelines and service standards.
  • Assist with monitoring compliance with program contracts, budgets, expenditures, and billing processes.
  • Supervise Patient Support Specialists (Peers).
  • Conduct in-service training as required or requested.
  • Participate in quality assurance/quality improvement and Gap in Care activities.
  • Prepare and present monthly reports to the supervisor outlining the productivity (service deliverables) and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in monitoring data entered in the CAREWARE system as required by Baton Rouge Transitional Grant Area. (BRTGA).
  • Completes reports and documents as required by the RW Program Manager in a timely manner.
  • Perform Rapid HIV testing and counseling.
  • Conduct Phase assessment of patients according to department Policies and Procedures with accurate documentation.
  • Provide for face-to-face or phone contact, and a home visit, as determined by client needs.
  • Assist with the assessment and provision of emergency financial and housing services for eligible clients.
  • Collaborate with professional and community groups to develop goals and to increase compliance with care.
  • Communicate with providers or other staff by sharing relevant information that supports effective medication management and adherence.
  • Help clients with applications for all other resources available.
  • Help and empower clients to develop and utilize independent living skills and strategies.
  • Advocate on behalf of clients to decrease service gaps and remove barriers to services.
  • Providing unbiased and ethical services.
  • Consult with Ryan White Program Manager and/or Ryan White Clinical Director before decisions are made on questions of interpretation regarding policy.
  • Follow the chain of command with problems and suggestions.
  • Assist Program Manager and/ or RW Clinical Director as needed with Clinical Quality Improvement issues.
  • Must be willing to travel within the Region 2 Service Area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Ryan White and CareSouth leadership by Ryan White program leadership.
