About The Position

Link RV is hiring an RV Service Technician to add to our Service Department. This position is ideal for someone interested in fine-tuning their RV Technician experience. The role involves diagnosing, inspecting, adjusting, repairing, or overhauling recreational vehicles, including travel trailers. Technicians may specialize in maintaining gas, electrical, hydraulic, plumbing, or chassis/towing systems, as well as repairing generators, appliances, and interior components. This role also includes workers who perform customized van conversions. RV Techs are responsible for servicing new and used RVs, including the chassis and engines, in addition to interior, exterior, electrical, and plumbing repairs.

Requirements

  • Prior RV repair training or experience
  • No Licenses or Certifications Required
  • Class D-Regular (Auto, Light Truck, Moped) Required
  • Prior Technical experience in electrical, plumbing, or carpentry preferred
  • Experience working in an RV Dealership environment is preferred
  • Self Motivated
  • Ability to Multitask and complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner
  • Reliable and strong work ethic
  • Valid Driver's License Required

Nice To Haves

  • Certificate or Diploma beyond High School Desired
  • RVDA/RVIA Certification is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Communicating with customers, reading work orders, and examining vehicles needing repair in order to determine the nature and extent of damage.
  • Repairing and installing RV satellite systems, electrical systems, backup systems, awnings and interior cabinetry and countertops.
  • Repairing and adjusting slide-outs.
  • Repair of generator systems, roof mounted air conditioning units, propane systems, water systems and plumbing.
  • Examining or testing the operation of parts or systems that have been repaired to ensure completeness of repairs.
  • Connect electrical systems to outside power sources and activate switches to test the operation of appliances or light fixtures.
  • Connect water hoses to inlet pipes of plumbing systems and test operation of toilets or sinks.
  • Examine or test operation of parts or systems to ensure completeness of repairs.
  • Inspect recreational vehicles to diagnose problems and perform necessary adjustment, repair, or overhaul.
  • List parts needed, estimate costs, and plan work procedure, using parts lists, technical manuals, or diagrams.
  • Locate and repair frayed wiring, broken connections, or incorrect wiring, using ohmmeters, soldering irons, tape, or hand tools.
  • Open and close doors, windows, or drawers to test their operation, trimming edges to fit, as necessary.
  • Refinish wood surfaces on cabinets, doors, moldings, or floors, using power sanders, putty, spray equipment, brushes, paints, or varnishes.
  • Removed damaged exterior panels and repair and replace structural frame members.
  • Repair leaks with caulking compound or replace pipes, using pipe wrenches.
  • Repair plumbing or propane gas lines, using caulking compounds and plastic or copper pipe.
  • Reset hardware, using chisels, mallets, and screwdrivers.
  • Seal open sides of modular units to prepare them for shipment, using polyethylene sheets, nails, and hammers.
