About The Position

The Production Supervisor will assume the management role for one of our more advanced production teams. The Production Supervisor will be responsible for developing efficient work methods and collaborating with employees to increase productivity while maintaining our strong safety record. The role will require the candidate to participate in cross-functional teams to help improve problems in all areas of the plant. Additionally, this role requires KPI tracking and reporting safety issues, quality concerns, cost per unit and efficiency as well as on-time production for the daily schedule.

Requirements

  • 5+ years' production experience.
  • 3+ years' managerial or supervisory experience.
  • Strong Microsoft Office proficiency, Word, Excel, Power Point and the ability to type.
  • Knowledge of database and productivity software required.
  • Fluency in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.
  • Six Sigma or LEAN certification preferred, but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates a sense of ownership & urgency to ensure on time customer deliveries within Safety, Quality, Cost and delivery standards.
  • Ensures all work assignments be carried out in a safe manner. Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing associates on the use of equipment, and resources; maintain compliance with established safety policies and procedures. The ideal applicant will possess a strong knowledge of 5S principals.
  • Drives efficiency and productivity improvements by eliminating waste in the process.
  • Deploy/sustain Lean methodologies to ensure compliance to Takt time and establish standard work wherever possible.
  • Utilizes data driven problem solving tools and drives root cause analyses to solve safety and production challenges.
  • Interview and onboard new associates insuring they are familiar with safety issues related to the area, understand the quality expectations of the area, and have been introduced to the team.
  • Maintain positive associate relations.
  • Assigns work and insures proper training of associates.
  • Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests.
  • Set clear performance expectations for associates and develop performance improvement plans when performance does not meet expectations.
  • Insures associate’s time is recorded properly and timely in the timecard management system and approves timecards in a timely manner.
  • Keep Production Manager aware of any problem areas.
  • Assign each member of the team tasks based on their competencies and the needs of the group to meet production goals.
  • Utilize the backgrounds and talents of crew supervisors to enhance their abilities and groom them for future management roles.
  • Develop a work environment that encourages compliance with company, state and federal safety and employment guidelines.
  • Set performance metrics for each team member and then work with team members to make sure that all metrics are met.
  • Meet with management once each week to discuss the company's production goals and how the team is working to meet those goals.
