The primary purpose of this Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) Director position is to serve as the Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) overall day-to-day leader within the Office of Health Policy, directly collaborating with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and overseeing statewide implementation and management of the program in accordance with Oregon’s RHTP goals and objectives and federal guidelines. The RHTP Director provides day-to-day support and strategic guidance to RHTP team members and ensures alignment with federal guidelines, OHA strategic priorities, and policy initiatives across the agency and state. The Director works collaboratively with HPA and OHA managers and the Health Policy Director to support team integration and coordination and serves in a lead role coordinating with external partners. The Director also leads RHTP recruitment, hiring, and onboarding activities, including recruitment and onboarding for rotational assignments. Issues and recommendations within the purview of this position are highly visible and potentially controversial to affected public and private health care constituents, state agencies, and the Governor’s Office. The person in this position works collaboratively with staff across the Oregon Health Authority, as well as business leaders, health insurers, providers, system executives, and other partners, contractors, and consultants.
