About The Position

Marcel is a new continental restaurant in the iconic Breuer building on Madison Avenue. The restaurant is a partnership between the design brand Roman and Williams and Sotheby’s, whose future New York headquarters will be in the Breuer. Marcel is Roman and Williams’ second restaurant, following their celebrated downtown restaurant La Mercerie, and will also include La Mercerie Patisserie. Restaurant Associates is the industry’s leading provider of dining and event catering for some of the nation's most prestigious museums, performing arts centers and corporations.

Requirements

Previous fine dining experience is preferred.
The use of a medium weight cut gloves when handling or using knives, peelers, choppers, mandolins or cleaning a slicer.
The use of oven mitts, fryer gloves or steamer gloves when handling hot pans from ovens, warmers or steamtables.
The use of slip-resistant shoes and proper lifting techniques.

Responsibilities

Delivers food to restaurant/dining room patrons/customers.
Follows principles of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment.
Interacts with customers in order to assure customer satisfaction.
Interacts with co-workers in order to assure compliance with company service standards.
Completes side work as assigned.
Performs other duties as assigned.
