About The Position

Manteno Elementary School is seeking applicants for the position of Run Club Sponsor. The sponsor provides leadership, supervision, and guidance for students participating in a school-sponsored club or activity, promoting student engagement, leadership development, personal growth, academic success, and positive school involvement.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the club, activity, or organization and its objectives
  • Ability to effectively motivate, instruct, and supervise students
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with administrators, students, parents, and community members
  • Current certification in CPR, First Aid, and AED (or ability to obtain upon hire, if required by the district)
  • Successful completion of all district and activity-specific requirements

Responsibilities

  • Recruit and encourage student participation in the club or activity
  • Instruct, supervise, and develop student participants
  • Promote student leadership, responsibility, teamwork, and positive behavior
  • Plan and conduct meetings, activities, and events that support the goals of the club or organization
  • Guide students in planning and implementing projects, events, competitions, performances, service activities, or other club-related functions
  • Plan and carry out all activities necessary to prepare students for competitions, performances, conferences, events, and other activity-related opportunities
  • Supervise students during meetings, events, competitions, performances, travel, and related activities
  • Monitor student eligibility and encourage academic success
  • Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and community stakeholders regarding club activities and events
  • Oversee equipment management, inventory, recordkeeping, budgeting, and program administration
  • Coordinate club events, recognition programs, parent activities, fundraising efforts, and other related functions
  • Ensure compliance with district policies and any applicable organizational, conference, or competition regulations
  • Serve as a positive role model for students
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality of student, family, and staff information
  • Work collaboratively with co-workers and school staff
  • Support students' social, emotional, and behavioral growth
  • Uphold school policies, procedures, and educational standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Administration
