About The Position

The RUM Operator is responsible for setting up and troubleshooting equipment and processes to ensure product is manufactured and completed according to technical specifications. This role involves ensuring machine setups meet standards and specifications, establishing, following, and improving equipment and setup parameters. The operator will also ensure materials for changeovers are available, products are packed and identified correctly, and accurate inventory and material control are maintained. A key aspect of this role is minimizing downtime through proper setups and timely reporting of issues. Additionally, the RUM Operator will coach and mentor assistants, ensure safety rules and company policies are followed, perform quality control checks, and maintain good housekeeping. Related tasks as requested by the supervisor are also part of the responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Must be able to work in varying temperatures above 95 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Ability to repeatedly lift to a maximum of 50 lbs.
  • Must have basic computer skills, AS400, Microsoft Office.
  • Must have basic math skills.
  • Ability to read tape measure.
  • Must be detailed oriented and have a sense of urgency.
  • Use PPE as required.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for set-up and troubleshooting equipment and processes.
  • Ensure product is manufactured and completed as per technical specifications.
  • Ensure machine set up’s are completed as per standard and meets specifications.
  • Ensure equipment and set-up parameters are established, followed and improved.
  • Ensure materials required for changeover are available and secured prior to set-ups.
  • Ensure product is packed and identified as per specifications.
  • Ensure accurate inventory and effective control of materials and supplies.
  • Ensure downtime is minimized by ensuring proper equipment set-ups, material is present prior to changeover and report lack of raw materials, tooling and/or equipment issues to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
  • Coaching and mentoring assistants by providing clear and precise instructions.
  • Ensure all safety rules and company policies/procedures are followed.
  • Perform quality control checks.
  • Maintain good housekeeping.
