About The Position

The position of Rubber Lab Technician provides personal protective equipment (PPE) and secondary safety equipment testing service and support to our customers. This individual works under the direction of the Rubber Lab Lead and Senior Rubber Lab Technicians. The Technician performs all associated tasks safely, efficiently and in accordance with industry standards as set forth by the American society for testing and materials (ASTM).

Requirements

  • Experience working in a results-oriented, team environment.
  • Must have good time management and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods.
  • Dexterity required to utilize power tools, and other tools required to do the job.
  • Ability to work in a safe environment and respect those around you.
  • Must be able to observe and interpret operational data.
  • Demonstrate regular and consistent attendance.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Understanding of RubberTesting.net.
  • Proficient in all rubber testing duties except for using the tester.
  • Understands rubber class and type and corresponding voltages and cleaning requirements.
  • Ability to enter data into computer or tablet.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working around assembly, warehousing, small engine repair, maintenance, lawn care, food service.

Responsibilities

  • Assists other lab technicians/service writers/sales personnel in processing rubber orders, both in service and new, in a timely manner.
  • Uses relevant computer programs to ensure chain of custody and proper testing steps are followed.
  • Utilizes the proper methods for cleaning customer equipment.
  • Inspects items visually for defects prior to dielectric testing.
  • Tests rubber goods dielectrically (under supervision).
  • Finalizes tested items and prepares for shipment (testing date stamp, bagging, packaging for delivery).
  • Maintains equipment and keeps lab in clean working order.
  • Provide complete, high level customer products/service and support for customers, the facility and other facilities.
  • Stay up to date on all procedure or process changes and utilize appropriate tools to improve process efficiency.
  • Provide high quality workmanship.
