RS Avionics Installer I
About The Position
Under moderate supervision, assists in the removal/installation of avionics electrical components, fabrication of wire harnesses, installations, terminations, ring-out, and functional tests of avionics/electrical systems. This is an entry-level position with a focus on assisting with installations, modifications, and fabrication of wiring and electrical components, fixtures, and associated equipment in accordance with blueprints, worksheets, and engineering drawings. The role also involves assisting with task completion within allotted timeframes, maintaining logs and records, and complying with company programs such as FOD, tool control, 5-S, and all safety regulations. Additional duties include proper care and maintenance of shop equipment and tools, and performing other assigned duties.
Requirements
- Ability to read and understand basic aircraft wiring diagrams
- Familiarity with hand tools used in avionics installation
- Familiarity with wire tie-up using string in an aviation or aerospace environment
- Familiarity using Daniels crimpers for wire termination
- Basic understanding of aircraft electrical and avionic installation standards
- Must know how to use a multimeter.
- Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematic diagrams.
- Strong written and verbal skills required.
- Computer skills and general software knowledge necessary.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with 3D modeling programs such as CATIA, is desired
- Technical Certificate in aircraft electrical assembly preferred.
- Successful completion in current year youth apprenticeship program sponsored by Gulfstream, in area of expertise.
Responsibilities
- Assists in installations, modifications and the fabrication of wiring and electrical components, fixtures, and associated equipment in accordance with blueprints, worksheets, and engineering drawings.
- Assists with the completion of tasks within allotted time frame.
- Assists with maintaining required logs and records.
- Complies with the company FOD program, tool control program, 5-S program and all safety regulations.
- Properly care for and maintain shop equipment and tools as assigned by Supervisor.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
