About The Position

Home Care Assistance is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) for a community client in Coldwater. This role involves overnight shifts, specifically from 9:30 pm to 8:00 am, two days per week, plus one bi-weekly weekend overnight shift. The RPN will be responsible for monitoring seizure activity and must remain awake during the overnight shifts. The company is looking for staff who can commit to regular shifts with this client and are willing to pick up additional shifts with other clients as needed. Requirements

• Current certificate of competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Valid First Aid/CPR certificate
• Vulnerable sector screen and satisfactory professional references
• Ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions
• G-tube experience, med resistive and reactive, comfortable with managing seizures
• Must have a valid license and reliable vehicle
• Willingness to adjust to a scent-free lifestyle due to scents triggering seizure activity
• Effective time management skills to work under specified time constraints and in accordance with job routines, while observing policies and procedures as well as applicable work standards and safety regulations

Responsibilities

• Conducting assessments and reassessments
• Developing, monitoring, and updating plans of care, as assigned
• Providing medication support and administration
• Responding to all emergency situations
• Completing reports and communicating with the family about any changes in care
• Meeting the Standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario at all times
• All other duties, as assigned
