About The Position

The Rover Utility Cleaner is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout assigned facilities by moving (“roving”) between designated areas as needed. This role supports day-to-day operations by responding to cleaning needs, special requests, and high-traffic areas, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for employees, visitors, and clients.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Prior janitorial or custodial experience required
Working knowledge of floor care procedures, including buffing and polishing
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment
Strong attention to detail and reliability
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to perform repetitive motions and physical tasks throughout shift
Comfortable working on feet for extended periods
Dependability and strong work ethic
Good communication skills
Ability to adapt to changing priorities

Nice To Haves

Experience using floor care equipment (e.g., buffers, auto-scrubbers) is a plus

Responsibilities

Perform routine and non-routine cleaning tasks across multiple areas or buildings
Clean restrooms, offices, common areas, break rooms, hallways, and entryways
Empty trash, recycle materials, and replace liners
Sweep, mop, vacuum, and spot-clean floors as needed
Perform basic floor care tasks, including buffing, polishing, and maintaining various floor types
Assist with deep floor cleaning projects as assigned (scrubbing, stripping, waxing preferred)
Refill supplies such as soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and sanitizer
Respond promptly to spills, accidents, or urgent cleaning requests
Disinfect high-touch surfaces following safety and sanitation guidelines
Operate cleaning equipment and tools safely and properly
Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to supervisors
Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and cleaning protocols
