This position ensures the timely, safe, and efficient delivery of petroleum products utilizing a computerized dispatching system. It involves effective communication with customers, scheduling trucks and drivers, and monitoring delivery progress to assure a high level of customer satisfaction and an efficient, profitable operation. The role also requires the planning, scheduling, and coordination of timely, safe, and efficient daily delivery of petroleum products through route building. This includes building and mapping daily delivery routes to ensure high customer satisfaction and efficient, profitable operations. The specialist will courteously answer the phone, record customer orders and information, or resolve customer problems, acting as the primary communication line with all drivers and customer service representatives. Key responsibilities include monitoring driver progress, ensuring drivers stay on track/route, assigning same-day deliveries, and reviewing and improving key metrics such as throughput, delivery defects, and safety. The position also involves forecasting daily and weekly demand based on weather, degree day accumulation, and degree day pull direction. It requires building efficient routes by mapping and sequencing deliveries, reviewing customer account information for correctness, analyzing burning pattern changes for accounts, and adjusting delivery forecasting based on seasonality. Additionally, the specialist will review Delivery Dispatch and Routing Specialists logs (e.g., auto to will-call, adding appliance, terminating) and update accounts for forecasting accuracy, as well as review k-factor exception reporting, run-out warning reports, and next day deliveries to take appropriate action.
