About The Position

A Routing Clerk coordinates between various Operational departments such as Fulfillment, Shipping, Returns, to manage customer orders including Customer’s Logistics teams and Transport Carriers. Responsible for the efficient dispatch of freight and handle associated administration. Supports the Routing function by managing customer orders from Fulfillment to Shipping; Work with internal/external parties to ensure orders are shipping timely; Communicate with carriers daily to execute shipments; Prepare shipping documents such as bills of ladings for load tendering; Research issues and discrepancies on shipments; Maintain records of all shipments per Transportation guidelines; Follow customer guidelines when preparing shipments.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Experience working in dispatch is preferred
  • Knowledge of warehouse related software
  • Highly motivated, a team player and motivated self-starter
  • Experience using a WMS (Warehouse Management System) is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications (Excel, Word)
  • Attention to detail is required
  • Must be able to Read, Write, and Speak simple correspondence in the English Language
  • Able to use RF Scanner, Computer, High Jump, and Caja proficiently
  • Ability to learn to operate RF Scanner
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs, bend, stand and walk repeatedly
  • Ability to apply common sense and carry out instructions.
  • Ability to understand all functions through training.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures
  • Ability to comprehend basic math.
  • Highly motivated, a team-player, and self-starter
  • Able to work overtime and holidays on as needed basis
  • Able to work in a sense of urgency and or fast paced environment
  • Able to utilize and work safely with corrugate
  • Must be willing to cross-train outside of your immediate department.

  • Must be able to clearly document and communicate any safety concerns/hazards to Leadership and LP/Safety and Training Team.

  • Stay up to date with all safety topics via Leadership and safety boards.
  • Be able to follow all safety procedures from on-boarding and safety procedures and practices from your departments.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for much of the logistics administration in both road transport and shipping.
  • Ensure files and records are maintained with no outstanding discrepancies or reports whilst also examining any documents to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Prepare information for any required Shipping schedules.
  • Resolve complaints and eliminate delays by closely working with supervisors and shipping personnel to assess progress and improve efficiency.
  • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously, arranging shipment details, keeping record of all outbound shipments.
  • Communicate with internal and external parties to execute the shipment of order
  • General housekeeping of warehouse/department and maintains a clean and sanitary work environment.
  • Cross-training in other functions/departments as needed.
