About The Position

The CNC/Router Operator is responsible for setting up, programming, operating, and tending to the computerized woodworking machine (CNC Router). This role involves starting the router, adjusting controls, and making trial cuts to ensure proper accuracy. The operator must determine product specifications and materials, work methods, and machine setup requirements, according to blueprints and work orders. Responsibilities include feeding doors into the CNC machine to produce desired routing, adjusting CNC machine tables or cutting devices, and setting controls to produce specified cuts or operations. The operator will monitor the CNC machine's operation, adjust the machine to correct problems, and ensure conformance to specifications. They will inspect and mark completed workpieces, stack them on pallets for movement to the next workstation, and verify the quality of all completed products while monitoring production. The role also involves using Masterpack data entry for scrap, reloads, and production. Additionally, this position includes Material Handler responsibilities: staging product into the CNC loader based on the WIP schedule, wrapping, labeling, and staging all completed product, and removing and disposing of all cutout debris from machinery.

Requirements

  • Mechanically inclined.
  • Good math and measurement skills.
  • Ability to read and write English.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Good attendance and safety records.
  • Solid teamwork abilities.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Must be a regular, full-time employee with at least 6 months in current position (once Fort Mill Masonite has 6 months of service this will apply to all postings).

  • Understanding standards & requirements, working with precision and attention to details.
  • Implementing a just-in-time production strategy.
  • Managing and being aware of inventory levels in the production area.
  • Measuring the efficiency of equipment and personal skills.
  • Communicating issues and problem-solving while maintaining integrity.
