Requirements

  • DZ Driver’s Licence and a clean driving record.
  • Excellent attendance and performance records.
  • Proven team building skills.
  • Interpersonal, communication and organizational skills are mandatory.
  • Knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook are a requirement for this position.
  • Must be available to work Saturdays when required.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Greater Toronto Area.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to Miller Waste System safety protocols and be familiar with the occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • Schedule routes as per the operating budget, and maintain accurate records and timekeeping for the York Region commercial collections contract.
  • Ensure the timely collection of residential/commercial materials, provide excellent customer service, and work within the specifications of the service contract with the District of Markham and the commercial customer base.
  • Demonstrate leadership, build positive employee relations, and develop team spirit.
  • Serve as the primary line of communication and contact between Municipal staff and Miller Waste Systems, comfortable in dealing with all levels of Municipal staff members.
  • Track productivity, complete reports, and hold employees accountable to complete their tasks in a productive and safe manner.
  • Comply with all Provincial and MWS health and safety policies and procedures.
