About The Position

Drive a delivery truck or vehicle over established routes or within an established territory to sell or deliver products. May also take orders, collect payments, or stock merchandise at the point of delivery. Services, orders, and delivers products to customers by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Services customers assigned to the route based on scheduled time-stopped ranking. Must adapt to any changes in work assignments and support organizational restructuring efforts. Follow accounts receivable guidelines set by the trade/customer when checking in orders (DSD, PO#, Military, Receipt, or Stamp) with the customer. Ensure all deliveries are worked by stocking our designated shelves and displays. Review promotions and new sales orders with the necessary managers at our customer’s location before finalizing the order and delivery sheet. Communicate with each account: new product offering(s), sales events/promotions, and display opportunities. Audits and pulls out-of-date or damaged products and rotates products regularly to maintain the freshest product level possible. Responsible for picking up shells/flats and pallets from customer locations and returning them to our warehouse for the recycling program. Inspect and review daily route paperwork to ensure accuracy. Review delivery of product/merchandise to compare against our record of the product/merchandise ordered, and report discrepancies to control costs and maintain correct inventory levels. Inspects product/merchandise to ensure it is correctly priced and displayed. Listens to customer complaints, examines returned products/merchandise, and resolves problems to restore and promote good public relations. Assists sales workers in completing difficult sales, placing displays or coolers, and performing resets. Communicate issues, problems, or opportunities with the sales and delivery team and management. Follow all company policies and procedures set forth by management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); two years of route sales experience, preferably conventional route experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of Encompass handheld database software is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license meeting acceptable criteria.
  • Employee must pass a background check, a motor vehicle driver check, and a drug screen.
