About The Position

As a Driver, Route Service - GR, you will be responsible for delivering and servicing company rental equipment to job sites/events, as well as refueling diesel light towers. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of truck driving experience preferred (CDL license not required), and DOT medical card must be obtained prior to commencing employment
  • A valid driver's license
  • Safe driving record and acceptable motor vehicle report (MVR)
  • Must be able to operate a vehicle safely following all traffic laws and signs
  • Effective communication, organization, and planning skills
  • Work well with Manager and team members
  • Ability to work independently and proactively with minimal supervision or instruction
  • Multitasking skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Follow oral and written instructions, use proper judgment
  • Ability to perform a job with the knowledge of policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective, local and state operations for the safety data, and property
  • Operate machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
  • Mechanical aptitude, Physically able to work in various weather conditions
  • Climb and lift ladders, able to work around cleaning products and equipment for chemical toilet service and repair
  • Lift and carry up to 45 lbs.
  • This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals’ policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct training to newly hired Service Technician III and/or experienced Service Technicians in areas of need
  • Conduct daily “tailgate” meetings with attention to daily safety priorities
  • Participate in creating schedules for Service Technician III
  • Work closely with departments and managers to address and repair issues with company assets/equipment
  • Work closely with Dispatch to determine the equipment’s order priority and accurately complete delivery/return logs
  • Deliver, retrieve, and move equipment (light towers, shower trailers, cooling trailers, guard shacks, generators, trash trailers, combo trailers, office trailers, porta johns, etc.)
  • Fuel equipment on location as necessary
  • Follow and apply prescribed safety procedures and comply with federal laws
  • Follow appropriate safety procedures when transporting or handling equipment
  • Communicate with the dispatcher on the status of job orders
  • Communicate with management and other workers via telephone or radiotelephones
  • Promote available company services and products
  • Promote clean and safe working conditions
  • Knowledgeable and supportive of all company policies and directives
  • Other duties as assigned
