About The Position

The Route Sales Driver is responsible for loading and unloading their vehicle to ensure inventory is prepared for daily routes. This role involves completing scheduled deliveries, ensuring prompt delivery of products and promotional items, and discussing new products and promotions with store personnel. The driver will also be responsible for maintaining equipment, replenishing stock, and freshening promotional materials. Additionally, the driver will handle cash on demand (COD) accounts, which includes receiving payment and obtaining money orders for cash transactions. Weekly vehicle checks are also a part of the responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age due to DOT requirements.
  • Minimum of two (2) years Customer Service and/or Route Driving experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to lift 55 lbs or more on a regular basis. Occasional lifting in excess of 70 lbs required.
  • Ability to drive more than 40% of the time.
  • Must have steel-toed shoes.

Responsibilities

  • Loading/unloading vehicle to ensure inventory for delivery is prepared for daily route.
  • Completing inventory count at the end of shift.
  • Completing scheduled deliveries and ensuring prompt delivery of products and promotional items.
  • Discussing new products and promotional items with store personnel.
  • Ensuring proper training of ICEE equipment is discussed with store personnel.
  • Cleaning machines, replenishing stock of cups/lids/straws, and freshening promotional materials.
  • Getting invoice stamped with store stamp at necessary accounts.
  • Completing daily recap on route envelope, including inventory of deliveries, mileage, and time in and out.
  • Writing any comments for supervisors on the route envelope.
  • Delivering products to COD accounts and receiving payment.
  • Obtaining a money order for the proper amount for cash payments and turning it into the Service Center.
  • Performing weekly vehicle checks.
