Under the supervision of operations leadership, the Route Sales Driver ensures professional and courteous representation of The ICEE Company. Customer service is paramount, with a commitment to success for customers, partners, and peers. Route Sales Drivers are expected to build strong relationships with store personnel, focusing on in-store merchandising and POS (point of sale). Daily duties include delivering products, completing and rotating account inventory, processing invoices, cleaning machines, and replacing promotional materials. This role requires minimal supervision, and attendance at weekly meetings in the Service Center is mandatory. Individuals are provided with a company vehicle, uniforms, a cell phone, a tablet, and a gas card.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 21 years of age due to DOT requirements.
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License.
Ability to lift 55 lbs. or more on a regular basis; occasional lifting in excess of 70 lbs. required.
Ability to drive more than 40% of the time.
Must have and wear steel-toed shoes.
Self-motivated with the ability to stay on task with minimal to no supervision.
Enthusiasm and motivation toward in-store merchandising and POS.
Ability to successfully maintain customer relations, interpersonal relationships, team relations, and service.
Excellent organization and time management skills.
Self-starter able to accomplish tasks in a timely manner.
Great oral and written communication skills.
Comfortable performing basic mathematical functions.

Nice To Haves

Two (2) years of Customer Service and/or Route Driving experience.

Responsibilities

Loading/unloading the company vehicle to prepare inventory for daily route delivery.
Completing inventory counts at the beginning and end of each shift.
Completing scheduled deliveries and ensuring prompt delivery of products and promotional items.
Discussing new products and promotions with store personnel.
Ensuring proper training on ICEE equipment for unfamiliar store personnel.
Cleaning machines, replenishing stock of cups/lids/straws, and refreshing promotional materials.
Documenting store-provided PO # on invoices.
Handling cash on demand (COD) accounts, including receiving payment and obtaining money orders for the Service Center manager.
Performing weekly vehicle checks and completing a DVIR (daily vehicle inspection report) for DOT vehicles.
Performing general warehouse duties such as cleaning, organizing, rotating product, and shipping/receiving equipment, parts, and product.
Performing other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
