About The Position

The route sales driver is responsible for delivering and selling dairy products to customers. This role involves driving a truck over an established route, collecting payments, and maintaining customer relationships. The driver must adhere to all Department of Transportation regulations and ensure safe and efficient service. The position requires physical stamina for loading and unloading products, working in various environmental conditions, and maintaining the cleanliness and routine maintenance of the delivery truck.

Requirements

Minimum Age: 21, as per Federal D.O.T. regulations
Must be able to pass a D.O.T. Physical and Drug Screen
Good driving record

Responsibilities

Drives truck over established route to deliver and sell products or render services of the dairy industry to customer’s place of business.
Follows all Department of Transportation regulations.
Collects money from customers, makes change, and records transactions on customer receipt.
Writes customer orders and instructions; records sales or delivery information on daily sales or delivery record.
Calls on prospective customers to solicit new business.
Prepares order forms and sales contracts.
Informs regular customers of new products or services.
Listens to and resolves service complaints.
Loads and unloads product at destination.
Places stock on shelves or racks.
Collects or picks up empty containers or rejected or unsold merchandise.
Stacks and unstacks items weighing 50 pounds from a height of approximately seven feet to the ground and back continually.
Drags stacks of milk weighing approximately 240 pounds, throughout the shift.
Loads and unloads truck and carries merchandise.
Works in very hot (100+) and very cool (less than 32) environments throughout the year.
Works outside most of the time, regardless of the conditions.
Keeps the inside of the truck clean.
Performs routine maintenance on truck.
Works and drives in a safe, courteous and efficient manner.
