About The Position

A Route Driver is responsible for the operation of a grease collection truck to collect cooking oil, a fat and bone collection truck for removal of raw material from customer locations, and a pump truck to collect waste cooking oil. The schedule for this position is 5am-5pm, Monday through Friday. Essential Duties/Responsibilities include pumping or loading grease containers, ensuring cleanliness of the container and surrounding area, returning the container with screen and lock secured, noting any damages to the container or corral area, and properly completing the route ticket with customer signature. The driver will empty customers' grease traps utilizing a company vehicle by pumping trap contents into the vehicle, ensuring cleanliness of the trap area and cleaning any spilled grease. For local runs, the driver will collect and inspect raw material at the time of pick up for any foreign or hazardous material. The driver is required to maintain an Electronic DOT log, provide customers with a receipt of pick-up, and obtain a signature of management at the location. The driver is responsible for the company vehicle, maintaining it in the cleanest possible manner, and operating it in accordance with Company, federal, state, and local regulations. This includes conducting all safety checks and inspections of the vehicle, operating under state, federal, local regulations, and in accordance with company policy and procedures, and observing all company safety rules. A vehicle condition report must be completed daily, and the driver must operate under all Company safety standards. Maintaining excellent customer relations by providing quality, professional service at all times is crucial. The driver is responsible for completing all company-required paperwork daily, including route tickets, driver vehicle inspection reports, accident reports, mileage reports, and service forms. The driver will be responsible for the established route as assigned. Attendance at all safety meetings is required, and the driver may be asked to serve on the Safety Committee. All other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must possess a valid Class A CDL, with a Tankers Endorsement.
  • Must be registered on https://clearinghouse.fmcsa.dot.gov/
  • Communicates clearly in verbal and written form.
  • Highly organized; superior time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain composure in difficult situations; adaptable to changing situations.
  • Must have a good driving record.
  • Ability to work well with internal staff and external customers.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of prior experience operating a commercial vehicle in route delivery setting preferred.
  • Prior route experience within a customer oriented environment preferred.
  • Experience with truck hydraulics a plus.

Responsibilities
