About The Position

Unitex is experiencing unprecedented growth! Due to this growth, we are in search of a highly skilled Driver / Route Supervisor for our facility in New Brunswick, NJ (10A). Schedule: Monday - Friday Must be able to start as early as 3:00AM or 3:45AM Compensation: The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $65,000 per year. Actual compensation decisions are based on factors such as experience, seniority, location, and other permissible job-related factors. Territory: Brooklyn and Long Island In this position you will be out on the road with drivers and also covering routes when needed. PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE DRIVING AS THIS IS NOT AN OFFICE JOB. At Unitex, the Driver / Route Supervisor is responsible for: Establish and maintain customer contact on a regular basis Introduce new products/services to customers Address issues regarding credit requests, credit and payment terms, contract status, service delivery frequency and service days with customers Participate in route settlement with the goal of improving issue resolution, COD pickups, and paperwork integrity Schedule new account installations, including day stop sequence, first deliveries and other matters with the customer Other service related duties as appropriate

Requirements

  • MUST HAVE BEEN A DRIVER FOR A COMPANY as you will be driving a 26 ft box truck
  • MUST HAVE SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE
  • Driving experience in a service environment needed
  • Demonstrated customer service skills
  • Strong management and communications skills
  • Must be able to supervise drivers
  • Efficient time management skills
  • Must be able to resolve issues in the appropriate time frame.
  • Must be organized with excellent follow-up skills
  • Very strong interpersonal and telephone skills.
  • Good with numbers
  • Clean driver’s license
  • Job is physical in nature – must be able to lift heavy objects up/down stairs and load heavy items into trucks

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain customer contact on a regular basis
  • Introduce new products/services to customers
  • Address issues regarding credit requests, credit and payment terms, contract status, service delivery frequency and service days with customers
  • Participate in route settlement with the goal of improving issue resolution, COD pickups, and paperwork integrity
  • Schedule new account installations, including day stop sequence, first deliveries and other matters with the customer
  • Other service related duties as appropriate
  • Supervises 3-5 route drivers. This includes hiring, training, developing and disciplining
  • Fills in for drivers as required
  • Regularly goes out with drivers to monitor driver’s customer service skills and job safety skills
