About The Position

This position is responsible for providing quality service and products to customers in a timely and professional manner. The Route Driver CDL will operate a company truck to pick up and deliver hospital linen at multiple medical facilities, and will be responsible for loading and unloading laundry carts. The role requires establishing professional relationships with customers, representing the company professionally, and ensuring the safe operation of company vehicles. Maintaining DOT compliance and following hours of service rules are also key aspects of this role.

Requirements

  • Be able to sit in a vehicle for several hours per day.
  • Be able to push/pull soil/clean carts weighing up to 800 lbs. (on wheels).
  • Must be able to consistently meet physical requirements such as bending, twisting, lifting, and pulling.
  • Valid Class A driver’s license.
  • Must have clean driving record per company policy.
  • Have six months to one-year experience.
  • Be available to drive nights and weekends.
  • Ability to speak and read the English language.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds overhead.
  • Ability to stand, walk and climb stairs up to 10 hours per day.
  • Be able to use repetitive arm motions.

Responsibilities

  • Operate company truck to pick up and deliver hospital linen at multiple medical facilities.
  • Load and unload laundry carts.
  • Establish professional relationships with customers and provide quality customer service.
  • Represent the company professionally in appearance, conduct, and performance while at customer locations.
  • Ensure safe operation of company vehicles, including pre and post route inspections.
  • Maintain DOT compliance and follow hours of service rules.
  • Follow standard vehicle operating procedures.
  • Meet established route schedules.
  • Deliver the product to our customers in a timely manner.
  • Be able to work past the schedule, as production/delivery issues may arise.
  • Properly maintain required daily and weekly paperwork.
  • Perform a daily visual inspection of the equipment.
  • Perform any other duties as supervisor/manager sees fit.
  • Cross-train on other routes per department needs.
  • Perform equipment moves to service provider for repairs and service as needed.
