Route Delivery Specialist Full Time
About The Position
This is a full-time position where the specialist will be responsible for loading food, supplies, or other products (such as machines) and delivering them to various locations in an area. The role involves assembling and delivering supplies to scheduled locations, ensuring the vehicle is properly loaded before each route, unloading products at delivery sites, collecting empty containers and rejected or unsold merchandise, and returning unused items. The specialist must also follow sanitation and safety guidelines, keep the company vehicle clean and organized, and perform pre & post-trip vehicle inspections. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- A valid driver's license and good driving record
- A valid Food Handler Certificate or provincial equivalent
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong communication skills
- Physical ability to carry out duties of the position
Responsibilities
- Assemble and deliver all supplies to the scheduled locations
- Ensure that truck/vehicle is properly loaded with all products required to properly service all scheduled deliveries prior to beginning each day’s route
- Unload requested products at delivery site
- Collect empty containers and rejected or unsold merchandise
- Return items such as unused food and beverages, serving equipment and utensils
- Follow sanitation and safety guidelines when handling food and equipment
- Keep company vehicle clean and organized at all times; perform pre & post trip vehicle inspections
- Perform other duties as assigned
