About The Position

Pizza Wholesale of Lexington, Inc. (PWL), established in 1976, is a privately held, family-owned and operated direct store distribution business that develops Hunt Brothers® Pizza across 21 states. With over 11,000 locations nationwide, Hunt Brothers® Pizza is the largest brand of made-to-order pizza in the convenience store industry. The Area Assistant or Route Delivery Driver will build strong, positive relationships with customers, aiming to exceed their expectations and requirements. In a competitive market, successful candidates must balance excellent customer service with achieving sales growth goals. As Trusted Advisors, Area Assistants are expected to generate goodwill and loyalty while maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years old.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Valid Driver's License with a safe driving record.
  • Must be able to obtain a D.O.T. card with a one-year certification.
  • Must obtain/maintain a Class B CDL within the first six months of employment.
  • Demonstrated customer service ability.
  • Must be innovative, self-motivated, and operate with a sense of urgency.
  • Must maintain a high level of professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a company truck in a designated area to deliver products and services to customers.
  • Perform daily preventative maintenance checks on the vehicle and maintain operator documentation.
  • Work within Hours of Service (HOS) regulations and report any challenges in completing assigned routes within HOS.
  • Load and unload product according to company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Review and correct invoices daily for accuracy.
  • Verify beginning and ending truck inventory daily according to established procedures.
  • Understand and clearly explain services, policies, and pricing methods to customers.
  • Prioritize personal safety and the safety of others by using safe precautions, proper tools, equipment, and adhering to all safe work practices and policies.
  • Train store employees on tasks such as making pizzas, cleaning equipment (ovens), and ensuring proper prep table stocking.
  • Ensure cleanliness of pizza shoppes, including removing "tracks" from two-wheelers in wet weather and breaking down pizza boxes.
  • Maintain the overall appearance of each pizza shoppe to Hunt Brothers® Pizza standards, ensuring it is free of other store merchandise, marketing materials are current, and displays are operational.
  • Work with store owners to achieve compliance if pizza shoppe standards are not met.
  • Service customer locations in the absence of an Account Manager and/or District Manager, with guidance from the District Manager.
  • Travel to other Districts to assist with running routes.
  • Provide service to customer locations during holiday periods.
  • Check voicemail during business hours.
  • Check Hunt Brothers® email daily.
  • Attend Hunt Brothers® Pizza Training School and other professional development courses as requested or required.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized warehouse.
  • Make daily bank deposits for all collected monies according to policy and procedures.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork within the established timeframe and submit to the appropriate departments, including all handheld operations and procedures.
  • Refresh promotional material as needed or when obsolescence occurs.
  • Defrost and clean the truck as necessary.
  • Attend company meetings as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
