About The Position

Pizza Wholesale of Lexington, Inc. (PWL), established in 1976, is a privately held, family-owned and operated direct store distribution business and a founding distributor of Hunt Brothers® Pizza. The Area Assistant or Route Delivery Driver will build solid, positive working relationships with customers, is highly motivated to exceed their expectations and requirements, and must be able to balance exceptional customer service with meeting and exceeding individual sales growth goals. Legal Age: 21 years old.
Education or Equivalent Experience: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Function Specific Experience: None.
Certification/License Requirements: Valid Driver’s License with a safe driving record.
Must be able to obtain D.O.T card with one-year certification.
Must obtain/maintain Class B CDL within the first six months of employment.
Overnight travel is required with this position.

This is a position that requires "knock your socks off" service as well as the ability to travel between the districts and interact with our customers in the Convenience store Industry.

Responsibilities

Safely operates a company truck in a designated area to provide products and service to a variety of customers.
Verifies daily preventative maintenance of the vehicle and maintains proper operator documentation.
Works within HOS (Hours of Service) and reports challenges to finishing the assigned route within HOS.
Loads/unloads product per company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Reviews invoices daily for complete and accurate information and makes corrections as needed.
Verifies beginning and ending truck inventory on a daily basis per beginning and end of day procedures.
Understands services, policies, and pricing methods and clearly explains them to the customer.
Takes responsibility for personal safety and watches out for the safety of others, using safe precautions, proper tools, and equipment, and adhering to all safe work practices and policies.
Trains store employees as required, including making pizzas, cleaning equipment (e.g., ovens), and ensuring prep tables are properly stocked.
Cleans up before leaving a store, ensuring no tracks are left in rainy weather and breaking down all pizza boxes.
Ensures the overall appearance of each pizza shoppe meets Hunt Brothers® Pizza standards, including being free of other store merchandise, having refreshed marketing material, and ensuring bulbs and displays are operational.
Follows proper procedures for working with store owners to gain compliance if a Hunt Brothers® Pizza Shoppe fails to meet standards and guidelines.
With guidance from the District Manager, services customer locations in the absence of an Account Manager and/or the District Manager.
Travels to other Districts to assist with running routes.
Provides service to customer locations during holiday periods if needed.
Checks voice mail during business hours.
Checks Hunt Brothers® email on a daily basis.
Attends Hunt Brothers® Pizza Training School and other professional development courses as requested or required.
Assists in keeping the warehouse clean and organized.
Makes daily bank deposits for all monies collected according to policy and procedures.
Completes all necessary paperwork required in the timeframe established and sends it to the appropriate departments, including all handheld operations and procedures.
Freshens promotional material as needed or as obsolescence occurs.
Defrosts and cleans the truck as necessary.
Attends company meetings as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
