About The Position

The Roughrider Ambassador Program is a leadership position for students who are dedicated to serving and representing Yavapai College (YC). Roughrider Ambassadors serve as YC representatives and perform duties at various YC campus and community events, along with campus tours. Roughrider Ambassador's will support the Student Engagement office by: Representing Yavapai College during college events. Developing an expanded knowledge of Yavapai College. Assisting with duties and tasks related to events put on by various YC departments. Working with diverse populations on and off campus. Conducting campus tours for new students, schools, classes, and guests. Attending weekly staff meetings and required trainings as needed. Minimally assisting with variety of office related tasks.

Requirements

• Must be currently enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for fall or spring; or 3 credits in summer
• All hiring documents must be completed prior to first work shift, including acceptable documentation for the I-9 Form
• Work with a diverse student population
• Exhibit patience and a positive attitude
• Demonstrate reliability and good customer service skills
• Demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrate time management and organizational skills, and ability to complete a variety of tasks on immediate or extended timelines
• Maintain work area in a clean and organized manner
• Adhere to the code of confidentiality in certain cases where discretion should be used
• Adhere to Yavapai College Code of Conduct as well as FERPA guidelines
• Have a strong understanding of technology and the ability to use it effectively and efficiently
• Must have the following skills/characteristics: leadership, dependability, initiative, enthusiasm, discipline and willingness to grow both personally and professionally
• Strong public speaking skills
