This position involves insulating, winding, and hooking up exciter armatures and rotors for motors and generators. The role requires following specified methods and procedures, interpreting schematics and wiring diagrams for proper hookup, and recognizing specific insulation system requirements to apply appropriate materials and techniques. The job utilizes hand and power tools and involves applying brazing or soldering to coil connections. A brazing certification in accordance with Mil-STD 248 may be required. The position operates under normal supervision and requires approximately 6,000 hours of experience to acquire basic skills. Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor within the same salary grade or below.
