About The Position

This position is for a Server in the Food and Beverage department. The primary responsibility is to embody and maintain the Brand DNA in all aspects of the resort experience, proactively engaging with guests in a friendly and welcoming manner according to Greenbrier standards. The role involves seamless execution of all service steps, including guest seating, water service, menu and beverage presentation with detailed knowledge of offerings and preparation methods, order placement via Point of Sale system, serving beverages and food courses using full club service, and clearing of courses. The server will also be responsible for validating guest satisfaction, taking dessert orders, preparing and serving coffee and tea, processing payments, and assisting with guest departures with a genuine farewell. Additionally, the role requires completing assigned side work, assisting the dining team with the service script, maintaining professionalism on the phone and in person, keeping the side station clean and organized, using materials effectively and efficiently, being familiar with ABC laws, and participating in required meetings and training sessions. The employee must ensure proper supplies are available and be willing to perform other tasks as needed due to fluctuating operational demands.

Requirements

  • Waiter/Waitress for at least one year
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively to ensure all objectives, criteria, and goals are clearly understood and accomplished to the desired standard
  • Must be enthusiastically proficient in the proper pronunciation of Food and Beverage offerings and preparations
  • Point of Sale Terminal experience
  • Successfully complete verbal and written menu test
  • Successfully complete practical service test
  • Energetic with a strong ability to display enthusiasm, professionalism, passion and energy
  • Consistent demonstration of the Ten Essential Attributes
  • On-going certification and training will be part of team requirements

Responsibilities

  • Escorts and offers chair and napkin assistance in the arrival and seating of the guests
  • Seamless execution of all service steps concerning the experience
  • Provides a selection of bottled water service
  • Menu Presentation
  • Beverage presentation including a full articulate knowledge of all offerings and preparation methods
  • Placing beverage orders into the Point of Sale System
  • Serving beverage orders utilizing full club service
  • Taking food orders including a full articulate knowledge of all offerings and preparation methods
  • Placing food orders into the Point of Sale System
  • Delivery of bread and butter
  • Polishing and placing of appropriate silver and glassware
  • Firing appropriate course
  • Serving and articulating all courses including a full knowledge of all offerings and preparation methods
  • Clearing of all courses
  • Validates satisfaction throughout the meal
  • Taking dessert orders including a full articulate knowledge of all offerings and preparation methods
  • Make and serve coffee, tea, espresso, cappuccino, latte
  • Presenting checks and processing payments
  • Assist in the departure of the guest including a genuine farewell and invite the guest back
  • Completing all assigned side work to the standard operating procedure
  • Assisting the dining team with all aspects of the service script
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism on the phone with callers and others entering the dining room in accordance with Greenbrier standards
  • Maintain a cleanly and organized side station

  • Participate in all meetings as required – Pre-Shift, training sessions, etc.
