About The Position
Performance Trust Capital Partners, LLC is an investment bank headquartered in Chicago, combining Wall Street scale with the agility of an independent, employee-owned firm. They help financial institutions uncover opportunities, navigate complexity, and make informed decisions. The Rotational Sales and Trading Internship Program is a dynamic and immersive summer experience for students aiming to start careers in high finance. Interns will gain hands-on exposure to real-time market dynamics, rotating across different Sales and Trading teams. The program includes technical training, mentorship, networking events, and career development workshops. Interns will contribute to strategy development, risk analysis, and trade analysis, learning the tools and mindset for success in trading. The program aims to challenge, inspire, and prepare participants for full-time Sales and Trading opportunities.
Requirements
- Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited bachelor’s program graduating between Winter 2027 and Spring 2028.
- Pursuing degrees in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or a relevant discipline.
- Demonstrated interest in financial markets, fixed income, corporate finance, and/or the banking industry through coursework, extracurricular activities, internships, or independent study.
- Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with Python or other programming language a plus.
- A curious, quick-learning mindset and genuine interest in understanding how different parts of a financial services business operate.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and concisely.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships across teams.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressured environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Candidates must be eligible to work permanently in the United States without sponsorship.

- Familiarity with Python or other programming language.
Responsibilities
- Supporting traders and sales professionals with data collection, market research, and trade ideas/analysis.
- Structuring and analyzing bond cash flows by utilizing cash flow engines like Bloomberg, Intex and YieldBook.
- Analyzing fixed income securities, bond cash flows, market data, and transaction opportunities.
- Assisting with the evaluation of client balance sheet and investment objectives.
- Learning how trading desks, sales, and other teams collaborate to deliver solutions for financial institutions.
- Building and maintaining analytical tools, reports, and workflow enhancements in Excel and other systems.
- Supporting projects related to new products, business development, technology, or process improvement.
- Working with experienced professionals to understand risk, pricing, trade analysis, and post-trade processes.
- Presenting findings, project updates, or market observations to team members and leadership.
Benefits
- Intern Hourly Rate: $30-35 per hour
