Rotational Development Program Trainee (Electrical Power Systems) CHILD to 168066
About The Position
The Engineering Rotation Development Program (ERDP) is a 12-month program designed for engineers to gain meaningful experience in up to two departments within Electric Engineering, focusing on improving PG&E's extensive network of electric transmission and distribution facilities. The program offers rotation assignments within one or multiple locations based on business needs. Available departments for rotation include Distribution Asset Planning, Transmission Systems Planning, Distribution Planning – Distributed Generation, Distributions Operations Engineering, System Protection, and Grid Innovation. Participants will spend six months in each rotation, allowing ample time to learn about the department and contribute to its success. Engineers can expect to work within PG&E's service territory.
Requirements
- Qualified candidates will have received or be receiving a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from May 2025 to July 2027 only.
- Degree must be from an ABET accredited university.
- Must have reliable transportation for work purposes.
Nice To Haves
- Completed coursework in Electrical Engineering with power emphasis: Power Systems, Analysis, Transmission Lines, System Protection/Substations, and other related courses.
- Experience with Python and SQL.
- Former PG&E internship experience.
- Strong communications, initiative, and teamwork.
- Work experience or internships in utilities, power industry, or other power related fields.
- EIT Certification.
