About The Position

The Engineering Rotation Development Program is a 12-month program that provides engineers an opportunity to gain meaningful engineering experience in up to two departments within Electric Engineering focused on improving PG&E's large network of electric transmission and distribution facilities. The rotation assignments will occur within one or multiple locations as defined with business needs. Some of the available department rotations include: Distribution Asset Planning, Transmission Systems Planning, Distribution Planning – Distributed Generation, Distributions Operations Engineering, System Protection, and Grid Innovation.

Requirements

  • Qualified candidates will have received or be receiving a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from May 2024 to December 2026 only from an ABET accredited university.

Nice To Haves

  • Completed coursework in Electrical Engineering with power emphasis: Power Systems, Analysis, Transmission Lines, System Protection/Substations, and other related courses
  • Experience with Python and SQL.
  • Former PG&E internship
  • Strong communications, initiative, and teamwork
  • Work experience or internships in utilities, power industry, or other power related fields
  • EIT Certification

Responsibilities

  • Six months in each rotation, participants will have enough time to learn about the rotational department and contribute to the department's success.
  • Work within PG&E's service territory with rotation opportunities within the specified departments.
