About The Position

A family of soon-to-be four in Palo Alto, California, is seeking a ROTA nanny/governess with a developmental nanny and educator focus for their 18-month-old son. The role focuses on supporting his development and helping him stay ahead of his milestones. The family’s second child is due in November; an NCS will care for the newborn during the first six months, after which the governess/nanny will care for both children.

The family is open to a structured, adult-led rather than child-led philosophy and wants someone who can engage the children educationally as they grow. This is a live-in role while on shift, with fly-in/fly-out arrangements during time off. The schedule is two weeks on and two weeks off. The position is ready to hire once the right candidate is found.

Requirements

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Prior nanny experience with infants and toddlers.
• Prior governess or educator experience.
• Availability to start within the next few weeks.
• Current CPR certification.
• Prior experience in a UHNW home.

Responsibilities

• Support the children’s developmental milestones.
• Prepare the child for preschool.
• Seek a long-term role, ideally growing with the family for many years.
• Travel with the family as needed.
• Work a two-weeks-on, two-weeks-off schedule.
• Communicate thoroughly with the other ROTA caregiver during shift changes.
• Care for both children after the NCS’s first six months with the newborn.
