About The Position

Turner Industries is seeking NCCER-credentialed Painters with Rope Access Level I, II, or III certification in the Baton Rouge, Louisiana area. The Painter performs surface preparation according to specifications to achieve proper adhesion and applies protective coatings to assets for corrosion prevention, identification, hazard recognition, product purity, and other purposes. This is a non-exempt role that reports to the Foreman. Duties are assigned according to specific procedures and checked frequently.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
IRATA or SPRAT Level 1, Level 2, or Level 3 certification.
TWIC Card.
NCCER certification.
Capacity to work at height.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace.
Complete a post-offer drug and alcohol screen and physical evaluation, and sign acceptance of the company Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy.

Nice To Haves

Experience with industrial coatings operations and best practices.
CPR certification.

Responsibilities

Use industrial rope-access methods and related equipment to reach work areas and perform maintenance, repairs, and other industrial tasks while suspended on ropes or in difficult-access areas.
Perform rescue operations, prepare technical reports, and complete administrative tasks as assigned.
Prepare surfaces according to specifications using methods such as solvents, hand tools, power tools, pressurized water jets, and abrasive blast cleaning.
Apply protective coatings to customer assets using methods such as brush or roller, conventional spray, single- or plural-component airless spray, hand trowel, and thermal spray aluminum.
Perform additional assignments as directed by the supervisor.
Comply with company and client job-site safety requirements.
