About The Position

Echo NDE is seeking a Rope Access Journeyperson Insulator to support long-term projects at client sites throughout Alberta. As a Rope Access Insulator, you will be a key member of our team responsible for performing insulation installation, maintenance, and repair work at heights. You will execute high-elevation tasks with precision, efficiency, and a strong focus on safety and quality.

Requirements

  • Journeyperson Insulator certification required. Candidates who are not Journeyperson certified must provide documented proof of trade hours and relevant industrial insulation experience.
  • IRATA Level 1 certification required, or higher.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial insulation practices, including the installation, repair, removal, and maintenance of thermal and acoustic insulation systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and work instructions, with expectations based on certification and experience level.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and compliance with company, client, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Physically capable of performing demanding industrial work, including working at heights and in varying site and weather conditions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous industrial, maintenance, turnaround, or shutdown experience is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and remove insulation materials including foam, fiberglass, and mineral wool to control heat transfer, energy loss, and sound attenuation.
  • Measure, cut, and fit insulation materials to required specifications, ensuring proper coverage, fit, and finish for various applications.
  • Secure insulation using appropriate fasteners, adhesives, bands, jacketing, and finishing materials in accordance with project specifications.
  • Inspect existing insulation systems for wear, damage, moisture, or degradation and identify areas requiring repair or replacement.
  • Perform removal, repair, and replacement of damaged or compromised insulation to maintain system integrity and performance.
  • Read and interpret project specifications, drawings, and work instructions to determine insulation requirements and installation methods.
  • Select and recommend appropriate insulation materials and application methods based on operating conditions, environmental requirements, and project specifications.
  • Identify opportunities for improvements or upgrades to enhance insulation performance, energy efficiency, and system reliability.
  • Coordinate with supervisors, other trades, and project teams to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications and timelines.
  • Follow all applicable safety procedures, site requirements, and quality standards while performing insulation activities.
