About The Position
Tacten is seeking a Rope Access Journeyperson Insulator to support our client site CNRL Horizon in Fort McMurray, AB! As a Rope Access Insulator, you will be a key member of our team responsible for executing high-altitude tasks with precision, efficiency, and safety. Project Details: Site: CNRL Horizon Shift/Rotation: Long-Term Maintenance Work - 14/14 Rotation, 11.5 hour shifts Camp Accommodations & FIFO from all major local city hubs in Canada provided Start Date: May 4th, 2026
Requirements
- Journeyman Insulator or equivalent hours required
- IRATA Level 1 required, or willingness to obtain. Ability to hire those with IRATA Level 2 and 3 as well.
- CSTS/OSSA or OSSA BSO or OSSA CSO
Responsibilities
- Install insulation materials, such as foam, fiberglass, or mineral wool, to prevent heat transfer, reduce energy consumption, or control sound.
- Measure and cut insulation materials to fit specific areas.
- Secure insulation in place using appropriate fasteners and adhesives.
- Regularly inspect insulation for signs of wear, damage, or degradation.
- Replace or repair insulation that has become compromised.
- Recommend and implement improvements or upgrades to enhance insulation performance.
- Consult with clients or project managers to determine insulation needs based on factors like temperature requirements, acoustic considerations, or electrical insulation needs.
- Provide recommendations on the most suitable insulation materials and techniques for different environments.
- Collaborate with construction or maintenance teams to ensure proper installation according to specifications.
