About The Position

This role is responsible for maintaining a positive and organized Greeting Gateway, ensuring guests have an enjoyable visit. The Property Greeter will interact with arriving, stay-over, and departing guests, providing information and assistance. Key duties include maintaining a neat workspace, adhering to appearance standards, and embodying the Ojai Valley Inn's philosophy and culture. The position also involves training new hires and assisting with other Front Drive/Bell Desk duties as needed.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a neat and organized Greeting Gateway at all times.
  • Wear proper uniform and maintain high standards in regards to personal appearance.
  • Be aware of presentation, body language, verbiage, quality of work, and attitudes around guests.
  • Serve all arriving, stay-over and departing guests elegantly.
  • Make eye contact and smile at all guests as they enter the Hotel property.
  • Greet every guest in an upbeat and positive manner as they approach the Greeting Gateway.
  • Solicit and use the guest’s name frequently during every conversation.
  • Identify and welcome return guests via the PMS system.
  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of guest room locations and hotel features.
  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge and location of all resort outlets, amenities and features along with hours of operation.
  • Communicate with arriving guests to discern if they are arriving guests, day guests or returning to the hotel guests.
  • Receive guests and verify name by referring to arrival list or iPad for guest name.
  • Provide arriving guest with a Rear View mirror pass that will be used to determine if guests returning to the hotel are return guests.
  • Coordinate with the front drive to inform them via telephone or radio that an arriving guest will be arriving at the Front Drive in vehicle as described by Gate Attendant.
  • Direct guests to the proper locations around the property.
  • Answer questions about events, location of events, dining hours of restaurants, and Spa.
  • Communicate with Bell Desk/Front desk for break/ meal coverage.
  • Handle guest complaints by following the procedures as stipulated in the OVI training manual and ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Turn over any lost and found items from guest rooms to Security.
  • Be attentive to all guests, continually serving them to ensure an enjoyable visit.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Ojai Valley Inn’s style, practices, culture, terminology, organizational structure, and general philosophy.
  • Come to work as scheduled.
  • Arrive at your work area at time listed on schedule.
  • Use telephone procedures as dictated by training manual.
  • Report accidents immediately to your immediate supervisor.
  • Respect guest confidentiality.
  • Train all new hires.
  • Set an example to all employees and management by continually demonstrating and supporting strong client service standards.
  • Perform any other tasks or duties as assigned by management.
  • Assist in other areas of Front Drive/ Bell Desk.
  • Attend designated meetings.
  • Order and Stock supplies needed for the Greeting Gateway.
